Ruukki’s two sawmills have been incorporated into the Group through acquisitions, and hence each sawmill has a long operating history before the consolidation. The sawmill business comprises the following units:
Junnikkala Oy
Junnikkala Oy is one of the most modern mechanical wood processing facilities in the world. The company is a significant processor of wood delivering end-products to the Finnish, European and Asian markets. Junnikkala Oy has sawmills in two locations; Kalajoki and Oulainen. In Kalajoki, there is also a modern production unit focusing on further processed products. The Oulainen unit has made significant investments into machinery over the past years, which enables swift reactions to the special needs of various customers. Junnikkala mills utilise both pine and spruce as raw material, with annual production capacity of sawn goods at about 200,000 m3 in Kalajoki and 100,000 m3 in Oulainen.
