Ruukki Group Plc’s roots go back to year 1985 when the company was established under the name Panostusinvestointi Ky. In 1987 the company became a limited-liability company and in 1989 adopted the business name Balansor Oy. Next year, the company was listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. The company became a public limited-liability company (Balansor Oyj) in 1997.
In 2000, the company adopted the business name A Company Finland Plc. The business model the company carried out was based on having minority holdings in ICT sector companies and their development. Many of the current associated companies of Ruukki Group Plc were acquired during these years.
